The Administrative Services Bureau is responsible for general administrative functions, particularly those that service all intra-agency personnel, including human resources, contracts, information technology, fleet and fiscal operations. This bureau is also responsible for administering special programs, including emergency management, recruitment, and chaplain and peer counseling services.

 

 

Contract and Records Division

The Contract Division provides contract administration and support services. Specific duties include preparation of contract solicitation documents, evaluation of vender proposals and/or bids, contract negotiations, award administration & contract closeout, audit of vender invoices, and monitoring of vender compliance with contract terms. 

The Records Division responds to requests for copies of police reports and other official documents. 

Fiscal and Logistics Division

The Fiscal Services Division plans, coordinates, and directs all budgeting and fiscal reporting activities for the Los Angeles County Police.

Specific duties include developing and monitoring of the annual budget.  Liaison with the Auditor-Controller's Shared Services Division for all disbursements, deposits and recording of cash receipts, and preparation of checks and claim schedules.  Staff are also responsible for submission of records to the Auditor-Controller's Shared Services Division to support billings to clients for services provided by the department.

Fleet Unit

The Fleet Unit staff  repair and maintain a safe fleet of vehicles and equipment, thus enabling the department to provide services critical to the safety and betterment of Los Angeles County.

Preventative maintenance and safety inspections are carried out through third party vendor shops to the growing fleet of over 200 police vehicles, horse trailers, generators, All Terrain Vehicles (ATV), mobile command posts and support trailers. 

Human Resources Division

The endeavor of our Human Resources Division is to establish a positive working environment for service oriented and responsible individuals with a strong sense of team. 

Personnel operations includes; but not limited to:

  • Recruitment and Induction of Personnel
  • Salary Placement
  • Assessment of Employee Minimum Qualifications
  • Professional Growth and Development Increments

Information Systems Division

The Information Systems Division is responsible for maintaining over 300 nodes and associated information technology assets at more than 45 field offices throughout Los Angeles County.

Specific duties include long and short range strategic planning, Information Technology Budget preparation, Business Automation Plan preparation; managing departmental intra and extranet environments, Computer Aided Dispatching application, voice logging recorder, automated alarm system, and maintaining all equipment related to emergency operations.
